Ground Cinnamon
The dried bark from the Cinnamomum family tree is used as a spice. It originally comes from Sri Lanka. Cinnamon has a delicious scent and is slightly sweet. It is most commonly used to prepare mulled wine, punch, sweet pastries and cakes. It is, however, also suitable for meat specialities in Arabian and Asian cuisines.
Tip: A sprinkling of ground cinnamon can improve the taste of most stewed dishes, especially lamb.
