Whole Bay Leaf
Bay leaf is an irreplaceable and versatile spice used in kitchens all over the world. Ancient Greeks and Romans decorated battle winners with crowns made of bay (laurel) leaves. Bay leaf is used in spicy meat and fish dishes. It is also used in pasta sauces, and even in sweet puddings. Just one leaf is enough to add the typical taste.
Tip: Bay leaf is more aromatic if you cut or chop it into large pieces. Remove the leaves before serving.
